Coverage:

KRSA covers Central Southeast Alaska. From Petersburg, our AM signal reaches approximately 100 miles north and 100 miles south, 50 miles east and 75 miles west. Three FM translators are located in Sitka, Wrangell and Haines. Our potential audience is 20,000 year-round residents with an influx of about 5,000 to 10,000 people for summer employment, and countless numbers of summer tourists. KRSA is on the air 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Format:

KRSA is a full-service, Christian radio station carrying complete news and weather information, talk shows, local and national sports, a variety of music styles, radio dramas, children's programs and teaching programs.

Music: Southern Gospel ("Solid Gospel "), Contemporary Christian, Praise & Worship and Saturday night we carry the more edgy, harder, alternative rock for our teen audience.
News: USA Radio Network news service and Associated Press wire service. Top of the hour newscast from USA Radio Network most hours, with two 45 minute local newscasts at 7:00AM and 5:00PM.
Sports: Live coverage of local high school basketball.
"Game of the Week" coverage of Seattle Seahawks football
Seattle Mariners baseball and Seattle Supersonics basketball.
Weather and Marine forecasts: KRSA airs current marine and Southeast weather forecasts throughout the day .

Market:

KRSA's studios are located in Petersburg on the north end of Mitkof Island, about midway between Juneau and Ketchikan. Translators extend KRSA's coverage to much of Southeast Alaska. Our audience includes the cities of Sitka, Petersburg, Wrangell, Haines, Kake, Angoon, Craig, Klawock, logging camps, fishing villages and the Central Southeast Alaska fishing fleet. Fishing is the predominant industry of the region with tourism and travel gaining importance each year. KRSA reaches approximately 8,000 households with an estimated average income of $50,000.

Community Service:

KRSA radio is deeply involved in community service, carrying messages to remote areas without two-way communication, broadcasting bulletin board announcements for events throughout Southeast Alaska and providing local and regional news and sports coverage.

Commercial Policy:

Maximum of 12 minutes per hour with good separation. All commercial copy must be in good taste and be consistent with station programming content. KRSA accepts no advertising for alcohol or tobacco products.

Audience Objective:

With the only commercial signal in a large portion of its broadcast area, KRSA's objective is to provide quality entertainment, news, information, music and be a positive influence in Southeast Alaska. KRSA rates very high in the 25 to 54 age group evenly divided between men and women.
